Final Thoughts:
It was in 2023 that all IPL records were broken. Yes, as many as 12 centuries were scored, which is the highest ever in a single IPL edition. These numbers tell a story: more and more batters are acing the art of century-making.
Also, all these IPL centuries had different significance for different players. Names like Prabhsimran Singh and Yashasvi Jaiswal were unknown, but didn’t get bogged down by the pressure. These maiden knocks helped them create a fanbase.
On the other hand, names like Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill had already created a reputation and needed some centuries to establish their supremacy on the IPL stage.
For instance, Yadav was an IPL legend but never had a century to show for it. On the other hand, you had Gill, who scored consistently throughout the season, only to smash three centuries in a span of 11 days. These knocks not only made them IPL legends, but also helped create a frenzy which is bound to fill up stadiums in the years to come.
